The gift that keeps on giving

No, Faith, not a kitchen set. I don't think I'll get away with that having two boys.

My sister called to tell me she was coordinating a combined gift for the boys, from the family. I was all for it. I nearly hit the floor when I heard her plan was this:

A Jeep Hurricane. It rocks. Poor kid had been seeing green watching his friends drive around in their powered toys. Not my kid, I said. My kids will run, ride bikes and play. No laziness around here.

Seeing him drive them, though, changed my mind. Seriously, it looked like so much fun, I wanted to hop on board. (And I would have, but they have a 130 lb weight limit, which I outweigh be a handful or so pounds. No one quite knows, least of all me.)

And, how fitting, it matches Eric's.

...our addition to the gift? I bought a tow rope and a child's snow tube so when it snows Mason and Jasper can drag each other around through the golf course. I also have helmets for them to wear- you know, because I'm a stickler about safety.

That is awesome! I want one. ha ha. I think it is funny how you say things all the time that I think in my head about having kids. I would definitely have said, only bikes and running around for my kids, but then I read your blog and I am exposed to another view. Anyhow, I guess I am saying that I am glad you admit to changing your mind because it is making me realize that a lot of things I assume about having kids are not going to be the way that they are going to be when I actually have them. And that is good to know now...

Don't worry... I am not getting in on the grandmother and father love yet. ha. They are still fully yours.

I hope it does snow so that they can use your gift... I wish it would get cold around here. I am tired of this warmish weather. :)

So true, Faith, so true. THANKFULLY God keeps us pliable about what we "think" we will or won't do with our kids(not that Jeeps are necessarily in that "spiritual" realm:)

Love these posts, Steph! Thanks for sharing!
