10 days and counting

Jasper's surgery is 10 days away.

To prepare, I've bought Tylenol PM and my mom shared some melatonin with me. Yes, I've been having trouble sleeping. I'm exhausted, but just lay wide awake in bed until the early hours. I haven't actually taken anything yet, as I'm not big on taking drugs. Even natural ones. I have a feeling the lack of sleep is catching up on me and I'll have to give in soon enough.

I'm also considering purchasing some waterproof makeup. Nothing worse than trying to wipe away tears, only to smear eyeliner across your cheek. Wearing makeup is an absolute must. His surgery is at 6 am, and I'm not much to look at that early.

Our biggest prayer right now? Both of the boys are sick with chest congestion. At this point, if Jasper doesn't recover, we'll have to reschedule. Fortunately we have until December 19th for him to take a turn uphill. We visit his pediatrician on Monday for a surgery physical and we'll see what he recommends- whether we revisit his albuterol treatments (from his ER visit in February due to RSV) or put him on an antibiotic.

We're hanging around home, I'm washing everything I can find, and doing my best to get them drinking as much fluids as I can. Even if it's juice.
